Data Menu

This menu provides access to the seven different tabular and graphical reports supported by Timesheet, and the export function to output Timesheet data in CSV format.

Table - 7 Days

View the total time worked and time worked on each task for each of the seven days following the w/c date. If more than two different tasks have been worked during this period a horizontal scroll bar will appear to scroll through the tasks.

This form always uses the time format and week start day set under Reporting Options.

  • Left Arrow - View the previous 7 days
  • Right Arrow - View the next 7 days
  • Goto - View the selected date
  • Done - Close the form

Table - 8 Weeks

View the total time worked and time worked on each task for each of the eight weeks in the date range shown. If more than two different tasks have been worked during this period a horizontal scroll bar will appear to scroll through the tasks.

This form always uses the time format and week start day set under Reporting Options.

  • Left Arrow - View the previous 4 weeks
  • Right Arrow - View the next 4 weeks
  • Goto - View the selected date
  • Done - Close the form

Summary - Day

View the total time worked and time worked on each task for the date shown. This form always uses the time format set under Reporting Options.

If Reporting Options specifies that reporting should begin at midday, this form will display AM and PM separately for the start day.

  • Left Arrow - View the previous day or half day
  • Right Arrow - View the next day or half day
  • Goto - View the selected date
  • Done - Close the form

Summary - Month

View the total time worked and time worked on each task for the month shown. This form always uses the time format set under Reporting Options.

  • Left Arrow - View the previous month
  • Right Arrow - View the next month
  • Goto - View the selected date
  • Done - Close the form

Graph - Week

View an area graph presenting the time worked on each task for each day of the week specified in the title bar. This form always uses the week start day set under Reporting Options.

The y axis is measured in hours and is scaled to fit the current data. Note that colours (or shading patterns on a monochrome display) are assigned to tasks based on the time worked during the period shown. Do not rely on the same task always being the same colour.

  • Graph - Show the graph
  • Legend - Show which task is associated with each color/shading pattern
  • Left Arrow - View the previous week
  • Right Arrow - View the next week
  • Done - Close the form

Graph - 10 Weeks

View an area graph presenting the time worked on each task for each week of the date range specified on the x axis.

  • Left Arrow - View the previous 2 weeks
  • Right Arrow - View the next 2 weeks
  • Done - Close the form

Graph - Year

View an area graph presenting the time worked on each task for each month of the year specified in the title bar. Please appreciate that this form has to process a lot of data, and updates may be slow on some handhelds.

  • Left Arrow - View the previous month
  • Right Arrow - View the next month
  • Done - Close the form

Export...

Writes Timesheet data into either a new memo or a text file on card in comma separated variable (CSV) format. This facilitates post processing your clocking information in a PC based spreadsheet.

Note that when writing to memo at least my version of Hotsync appears to have a size restriction and will only transfer the first 4Kb of each memo. It is quite possible that large exports will exceed this limit.

  • Destination - Select whether to write to memo or card. If card is selected enter the filename and extention under 'Filename'. All files will be stored in the 'PALM\Timesheet\' directory.
  • Data - Select which days will be exported: Today's data only, all days within 1, 2, 4, or 52 weeks of the current date, or all stored days.
  • Note - Include or omit the day note in the formats below
  • Summary - Output in Summary format as per the table below
  • Durations - Output in Durations format as per the table below
  • Clockings - Output in Clockings format as per the table below
  • OK - Perform the export and return to the main form
  • Cancel - Return to the main form without performing the export
